Pinewood Derby

Here are some pictures from the Cub Scout Pinewood Derby. I think Justin had more fun making faces than actually racing his car. Some of the pictures are a little blurry but you get the idea.

Justin was a little disappointed this year because he did not do as well as he has in past years. I was not able to be there and asked if he had a good time and he said, "Not really."

He did do a good job on his car though and actually did most of it himself, even the painting. We are very proud of our little Cub Scout!

Snow Day

It snowed! The kids were so excited. We ended up getting about 4 inches of snow and they had a blast in it. Justin of course started out with torturing his sister by throwing snow balls at her and eating snow. What is it with kids and eating snow? This was the first time that Jasmine has ever really seen any amount of snow and she loved it. They were disappointed at how quickly it melted.

The kids were excited to make a snowman and after about 3 trips outside, and Daddy helping out, the snowman started taking shape.

They didn't do too bad for being very out of practice and Jasmine being her first time. She had to give the snowman big kisses.

The kids played outside almost all day long. They came in just long enough to get warm and they were gone again. They also got the chance to play with their friends Evan and Landon so it was a great day. Then it was inside for some hot chocolate! Although I'm glad snow is not a regular occurrence, it sure was a nice change of pace!

New Year's Eve

We had a really good time for New Year's Eve. There was a lot of Wii bowling, Guitar Hero and eating. Oh, and goofing around and playing dueling cameras! Between 3 cameras we got some fun shots of all of us just being us!

Thanks to delayed timers we even got some shots of all of us! We didn't get mom though, she had left before we took these.

Happy New Year to everyone and we hope that you all have a wonderful and prosperous 2009!

Christmas at Home

Christmas Day is always spent at home and we were lucky to have Uncle Dave with us this year. We were very sad that Grandpa and Abuela were not able to make it due to that nasty northern weather! The first thing, before opening presents was have Justin and Jasmine record a Merry Christmas message to Grandpa and Abuela for the DVD we are making them so they won't feel like they missed a thing! Daddy got to play Santa.

We also looked to see what Santa left in our stockings!

Justin and Jasmine received wonderful presents that they were so excited about. Here are pictures of some of their favorites. Justin was really wanting a Storm Trooper Voice Changer helmet (thanks Grandpa and Abuela!) He was also excited about his Nerf Vulcan gun from mom and dad as well as his Horton Hears a Who movie from Uncle Dennis, Aunt Emily and boys. We didn't get a picture but we should have of Justin and Uncle Dave playing the Star Wars game from Uncle Dave. They had a lot of fun with that.

Jasmine had a lot of fun with her Pet Shops from Uncle Dennis and Aunt Emily, but her favorite was her Pet Shop VIP's from Uncle Dave.

Of course the rest of us were having fun too with the Guitar Hero game "Santa" brought for us.
We had a wonderful Christmas holiday and were glad to be able to have some of our family around even if everyone couldn't be there.

Cupcakes

Jasmine was so excited that she got her cupcake maker for Christmas that we had to make sure to make cupcakes Christmas Day. The lucky recipients of the Jasmine specials were Daddy and Uncle Dave. You can also see in the background the beautiful tin full of yummy treats that Uncle Dennis and Aunt Emily sent. What a treat filled day!!

Christmas Eve at Grandma and Papa's

For Christmas Eve, we went down to open presents at Grandma and Papa's house. The kids were very excited and had been talking about it all day. They could hardly wait to get down there with their cousins. Both Justin and Jasmine were excited about the gifts they received, but no one was as animated about it as Jasmine was when she got her cupcake maker from Uncle Travis and Aunt Seana, as well as her Princess Jasmine dress from Grandma and Papa. She had to put that on immediately! She was very disappointed though that the other kids got pajamas and she didn't so Papa promised her a set of pajamas with monkeys on them. We forgot to take a picture of those. This is our last Christmas all together before Travis and Seana move back to Maine so it was nice to be all together even though we know it won't be the last time.

Saturday Night Bowling

While Dave was here for Christmas vacation, we all decided that we wanted to go out and do something fun. We had been Wii bowling at the house, but it just wasn't cutting it so we decided to put our skills to the real test. I think this was actually my first time bowling where it wasn't candle pin, so it was different for me.

Seana, Travis and I fought real hard but in the end it was a LaTour man victory. Steve won the first string and Dave pretty much sunk us all in the last two. Of course we all know it's in their blood. I've seen their mom's trophies!!
